Our request for a clear and straightforward way to request payment of the pay settlement lump sum in instalments has now been made available.
Following swift action from your branch highlighting the issues that those in receipt of particular in-work benefits could face if they received the pay settlement in one lump, SECAmb have now announced supportive measures.
Being paid the lump sum in instalments may enable those in receipt of particular benefits to avoid reaching thresholds that result in reduction or loss of their benefits.
It is therefore important that if you are in receipt of any such benefits you are clear on the implications of receiving the lump sum in a single payment and have taken any appropriate advice that you may need.
The Trust has made available information, including a link to the form that will need to be completed to request payment in instalments, on The Zone here – NHS Pay Offer – lump sum can be paid in stages (sharepoint.com).
Please note that the form must be completed by 31st May 2023 if required.
