PUTTING NHS PAY RIGHT

Hello UNISON Member,

Over two years into the Covid pandemic the NHS backlog is reaching crisis point, the cost of living is spiralling upwards, and pay isn’t keeping up. Putting NHS pay right is now more urgent than ever.

That’s why we’re speaking up at the SECAmb BRANCH. On Friday 1 April we will be making our voices heard on Social Media.

And if you can’t read the information, you can make sure you’ve taken the first step in supporting our campaign by adding your name to our open letter.

Right now, the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS pay review body are taking their time to make decisions on pay and how they’re going to support the NHS.

It’s vital they hear the call from NHS workers to put pay right loud and clear. Putting NHS pay right is the only way to stop the exodus – an inflation-busting pay rise but also making sure NHS workers are paid fairly for the jobs they do and the hours they work.

So, will you take a minute to sign the open letter to the Department of Health and NHS bodies making it clear how NHS pay needs to change?

ADD MY NAME

For the NHS to keep caring for everyone who needs it, the pressures facing NHS workers must be addressed:

… Inflation busting pay rise;
… Overtime paid at proper rates;
… Ensuring everyone is banded correctly for the job they do;
… Ending poverty pay in the NHS once and for all.

It’s all vital to make sure NHS workers feel valued, respected, and able to keep giving their all to the NHS.

The first step is making clear our call to NHS decision makers. From the Department of Health to every NHS employer – there is no more time to pass the buck, it’s time for serious action. It’s not going to be easy, together we’ll need to pull out all the stops both nationally and locally to push for the changes NHS staff need.

So, will you take the first step and sign the open letter today?
